Client: The Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in collaboration with The Rayne Foundation (set by Arts University Bournemouth)
Project: Synergy: The Currency of Care – Conversation-Based Card Game
Year: 2023

Brief:
"How might we improve the lives of older adults and their carers?"— we set out to create a meaningful design intervention centred around dignity, connection, and wellbeing within care relationships. We were encouraged to approach the challenge through systems thinking, considering age-friendly design, inclusion, sustainability, and the long-term viability of our idea.

Outcome:
We developed Synergy: The Currency of Care—a conversation-based card game designed to spark authentic conversation between carers and older adults. The deck invites players to connect through shared experiences like careers, relationships, and culture. Our goal was to shift care culture from transactional to relational by encouraging empathy, shared identity, and mutual respect.
The project was submitted to the RSA Student Design Awards with support from our university mentors.

Role:
I led creative direction and visual development for the project, overseeing illustration, layout, and visual identity. I also contributed to ideation, research, and prototyping.
